Connie Smith is an American country singer, born in 1941 in Elkhart, Indiana and raised in West Virginia. She signed with RCA Victor in 1964, and her debut single Once a Day spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard country chart. She has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1965 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
