Clover County

americana · folk · indie rock

Clover County is the stage name of Amanda Grace Schiano, a singer-songwriter based in Athens, Georgia, who mixes Americana-leaning folk with wistful indie pop and an alt-rock edge in a style she calls bootgaze. The term began as a joke while she was working in an Athens guitar shop: rather than staring at her shoes like a shoegaze player, she is looking down at her boots. She studied at the University of Georgia but left during the pandemic for financial reasons, returned home and wrote prolifically, accumulating songs written from the age of seventeen onward; early tracks Midnight Crow and Out Well and the EP Black Leather Daydream came out of that period, and her first single arrived in 2023. The EP Porch Lights followed in 2024, and she supported it with an opening slot for Lord Huron at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Her debut album, Finer Things, was released in September 2025 through her own label, Undercover Lover Records, in partnership with Thirty Tigers. Carrie K produced the twelve-song record, whose arrangements move between acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and pedal steel behind a soft, unforced lead vocal; co-writers include Carrie Kilgo, Will Taylor, Jaime McLaughlin and Cameron Neal, and key songs include Yours Too, Virginia Slim, Good Game and Whiskey Cherry. Holler placed it at No. 17 on its list of the year's best country albums and Americana UK rated it 8 out of 10. A deluxe edition adding three tracks produced by Brad Cook appeared in January 2026, and the Finer Things headline tour opened in Denver that February. Schiano has toured with Lord Huron, Shakey Graves and Madi Diaz, played Austin City Limits Music Festival, and recorded sessions for KUTX and Radio Milwaukee.
