Ceremony is an American punk and post-punk band formed in Rohnert Park, California, in 2005. Fronted by lead vocalist Ross Farrar alongside guitarists Anthony Anzaldo and Andy Nelson, bassist Justin Davis, and drummer Jake Casarotti, the group is celebrated for continuous musical reinvention. Originating in the aggressive hardcore punk and powerviolence scenes on albums such as Violence Violence (2006) and Rohnert Park (2010), Ceremony later transitioned into moody post-punk and new wave on records including Zoo (2012) and The L-Shaped Man (2015) for Matador Records, followed by In the Spirit World Now (2019) on Relapse Records. The band tours internationally, headlining historic venues including The Fillmore in San Francisco.
