Borahm Lee is a keyboardist, producer and sound designer who works between live-band jam circles and electronic production. Raised in New York City and later based in Colorado, he co-founded the electronic duo Break Science with drummer Adam Deitch around 2010, a Brooklyn project that filtered glitch-hop, dubstep and hip hop through live instrumentation. Break Science released most of its catalogue on Derek Vincent Smith's Pretty Lights Music label, including the EP Monolith Code in 2012, Seven Bridges in 2013 and Grid of Souls in 2018, drawing guests such as Redman, Lettuce, Dominic Lalli, Karl Denson, Brasstracks and Raquel Rodriguez. Lee has played keyboards and synthesizers in the Pretty Lights live band since 2014, across the Analogue Future Band, the Pretty Lights Live incarnation of 2016 to 2018, and the group's current lineup, which returned in April 2023 alongside Derek Vincent Smith, Michal Menert, turntablist Chris Karns and drummer Alvin Ford Jr. That configuration carried the Soundship Spacesystem tour in 2023 and the Check Your Vector tour in 2024, and launched the Yahn Dawn festival in Colorado in 2025. He also performs in the jazz-electronic group BTTRFLY, whose lineup includes trumpeter Eric Benny Bloom of Lettuce and saxophonist Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic. Outside those bands he has self-released music as an independent artist and works in longer-form audio-visual formats: in March 2025 he premiered Harmonic Fusion, a piece built with multimedia artist Anti-Alias, at Boulder's Fiske Planetarium, combining live keyboards, spoken word and synchronized dome projection. His playing tends toward layered analog synthesizer textures and improvised keyboard solos over programmed rhythm sections, and he appears regularly at Denver rooms including Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom.
