Tribute to Grateful Dead

Bloom & Decay Band is a Grateful Dead tribute band based in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. The group reworks Dead material with a psychedelic approach that folds rock, blues, jazz and folk into the arrangements rather than reproducing the originals note for note, and it treats each night as an improvised sequence with long detours between familiar changes. Its main public archive is Bandcamp, where it posts near-complete board recordings of its own shows: the run there stretches from Wilson Farm Park and 118 North in Wayne in mid-2025 through Ember Music Hall in Richmond, Virginia, Rivet in Pottstown, the Bridgeport Ribhouse, the Phoenixville Firebird Festival in December 2025, and on into 2026 dates at Parx Casino, Troubles End, the University of Pennsylvania and Stray Dog in Skippack. A Live Picks compilation collects highlights from across those tapes. The band works almost entirely in regional Pennsylvania rooms and outdoor festivals rather than touring nationally.
