The Bellamy Brothers are an American country duo of siblings Howard Bellamy, born in 1946, and David Bellamy, born in 1950, from Darby, Florida, where they still keep a ranch and record. They began performing professionally in 1968, and David's song Spiders & Snakes was a hit for Jim Stafford before the pair broke through themselves. Their 1976 single Let Your Love Flow topped the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number one in more than a dozen countries. The duo then moved decisively into country, where If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me gave them their first United States country number one in 1979, followed by Sugar Daddy, Dancin' Cowboys, Do You Love as Good as You Look, For All the Wrong Reasons, Redneck Girl, When I'm Away from You, I Need More of You, Old Hippie, Kids of the Baby Boom and the Forester Sisters duet Too Much Is Not Enough. Chart histories credit them with more than two dozen top-ten country singles, and they hold the record for the most duo nominations at both the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards, along with several Grammy nominations. They have released more than fifty albums, largely for Curb Records, found a durable European audience, and are widely cited as forerunners of later country duos such as Brooks & Dunn and Montgomery Gentry. David Bellamy was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2024. Later releases include Over the Moon (2019), Double Dog Dare (2024), which features guests including Gene Watson and The Isaacs, and 50 Years On, a set of new songs marking the fiftieth anniversary of Let Your Love Flow. Their memoir, Let Your Love Flow: The Life and Times of the Bellamy Brothers, appeared in 2018, the same year their reality series Honky Tonk Ranch began, and they continue to play more than 200 dates a year.
