Arturo Sandoval

Arturo Sandoval is a Cuban-American jazz trumpeter, pianist and composer, born in 1949 in Artemisa, Cuba. He was a founding member of the Cuban group Irakere before defecting and becoming a U.S. citizen in 1998. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013 and Kennedy Center Honors in 2024.
