Alexandr Misko is a Russian-born fingerstyle acoustic guitarist, composer and arranger who is now based in Germany. He was given his first guitar at twelve and took private classical lessons for three years, then taught himself modern fingerstyle technique as a teenager after hearing the Canadian guitarist Don Ross. His playing combines tapping and percussive strikes on the body of the instrument with conventional fingerpicking so that one guitar carries melody, bass line and rhythm at once, an approach he applies both to original compositions and to arrangements of pop songs. He built an audience online while still in high school: an early original built around tapping passed a million views in 2015, a 2016 arrangement of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean drew more than thirty million views on Facebook, and a version of George Michael's Careless Whisper spread widely the following year. His YouTube channel has since passed a million subscribers. Misko released his debut album, The Songs of Adolescence, in 2016, followed by further solo records including Roundtrip in 2019 and Final Boss in 2026, alongside a continuing series of cover arrangements. MusicRadar named him Guitarist of the Year in 2018 and he has also held the magazine's Acoustic Guitarist of the Year title, with Total Guitar listing him among the best acoustic guitarists working. In January 2020 he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in a duo with the harpist Alexander Boldachev, and he has also worked with Hans Zimmer. He tours internationally, with dates across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, generally performing solo in small halls and listening rooms such as One Longfellow Square in Portland, Maine and The Bur Oak in Madison. Baton Rouge builds a signature model for him, and he is an endorsing artist for K&K Sound, Ernie Ball, G7th and Hughes & Kettner.
