Akeem Ali is a rapper from Jackson, Mississippi, whose sound sits between trap and boom bap. He broke through with the 1970s-inspired persona Keemy Casanova, whose title track went viral without label backing, and he later signed to the independent label Winners United and followed with the Mack in the Day project.
