65 North Pickers
bluegrass
65 North Pickers are a bluegrass quartet based in Richmond, Kentucky, made up of Jake McNulty on mandolin, Nate Farmer on banjo, Quinton Miller on guitar and Tali Jones on bass. All four sing. The band pairs the drive of traditional bluegrass with the open-ended improvisation of a jam band, and names the Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix alongside classic festival music as its reference points; sets lean on fast picking, extended solo passages and original material rather than a standard covers repertoire. Its debut EP, Green Lights Volume 1, was released in 2024 and runs six tracks, among them Town Branch Blues, It's Only Real Till It All Falls Down and the title song. The band recorded a session for Red Barn Radio, the long-running live roots program taped in Lexington, in January 2026, and played a full set at Willstock Festival that June. Its 2026 touring covers the Southeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, with stops in Asheville at The Grey Eagle, plus Nashville, Columbus, Charleston and Grand Rapids, often on shared bills with the Baltimore string band Radish and with North State Grass. Festival dates include Good People Good Times Fest in Nashville, Indiana in September 2026 and The Moonshiners Ball in Livingston, Kentucky in October 2026.
